Human emotions and its worth..

People have always believed that emotions play a major part of their social behaviour and hence are a part of their way of living and thinking. There are various forms of emotions i would say.. each interaction we have with another form of matter (living or non-living) gives rise to a form of emotion. Emotions bring a change in the state of our mind .. and as we all know Mind is something which controls everything we do.. but itself has no reins! Like the expression on a child holding an ice cube for the first time, or a boy who goes on a date for the first time...
But is this worth it as i sometimes feel emotions are the cause of problems we tend to face in our day to day lifes..
In the work place emotions give rise to jealousy, sadness or in an extreme case hatred. It is not " Professional" to say on the face to anyone that i envy you or how did you get that when i was fighting for it all along? But thats the truth.. emotions come in to play when you hear about anyone doing better than you. The emotion that comes in such a situation is envy, which in turn hurts ego's around .Hence the phrase has been coined " It was nothing personal" ! Thats one reason i believe why corporate policies state that their employee has to be "Professional" meaning no emotions should be displayed, but is it really possible? or is it really impossible?
The reason for my considering it not to be impossible is after seeing some people who have adapted themselves and in fact quite mastered the art of faking or hiding their emotions...
quite a feat i would say as i have tried to do this but tend to fail... but as you know scorpians are a stubborn class and hence will suceed or die trying!
I think man should try and learn to control emotions and that would save him lot of trouble and also would keep him healthy and without worries.
Would it be possible to tweak a gene or something that would make all mankind emotionless? I would assume the world to be a better place to live in where there is no negative emotions on display and not a tear shed on account of another person. The world would be simple and living would be less a fight that we currently do to survive.
But having said all this will it be worth it... just living like a machine? No emotions, no happiness no sadness, no joy, no tears, no sorrow..... would it be worth it loosing our human values to live a simple and uncomplicated life? i assume this is way too complicated than that and God has a plan of his own........And HE IS A PROFESSIONAL !

Can women rape a man?

You all might think this is a steamy topic and might have some expectations also..sorry but i am refering to an amendment made in the Indian law which has replaced the word "Rape" with " Sexual assault", this was done in order to make this offence "Gender Neutral".
The funny thing here now is that women activist are all up in arms right now saying this is outrageous! I would say is it really not possible? You see women in this era are matching Men in every step, who knows they will do so in this " Step" also.
A bunch of hypocrites they are i would say !
The activists agree that women can harass men but are not capable of raping them! In this era it is not only the women who are victims but also men, for example the Anti Dowry law has become a blackmailing tool for women to harass men and their family in some cases.. i am not arguing here that the number of men being victims is less or more than the number of women , the point is let the law be neutral and who ever stands accused deserve the punishment that the judiciary decides. After all we all know that Justice is served only when the it is made unbiased and regardless of caste gender and creed.
We know that the number of men assaulting women is greater but the other way round is also not unheard of now is it? yeah they do not make headlines and also i would assume people would laugh at a man saying he got sexually assaulted by a woman!
See the Axe male deodrant advertisment which has a punch line saying "Be ready to get assaulted!"
I would say the law has to change as the time goes by and agree with the government's decision to modify this law accordingly to the changing times.
Just hope they dont start keeping a quota or reservation clause here also to appease the "miniority" community so as to appease their vote banks!!

Sex and Swami's..

"Sex and Swami" sounds a bit like a title of a B grade Hindi movie now does it not?
But this is a fact of life that there are godmen who wear the right costume but act like a Tiger in Sheep's cloak..
Recently there was am MMS clip that made the rounds which showed a Swami of good repute in a steamy video with one of his female disciples... and this created a furore among his followers as how could he do such an act? Now they showed his so called " Disciples" burning their Guru's pictures and posters and also ransacking his Ashram.
Now i was amazed as to how things can change so fast in a man's life, one day he was the supreme being to his followers and ready to kill and die for him and the next day those same people were seen trampling on his posters and smearing soot over his pictures in anger!
did the people need a MMS clip to show them that no human can become a saint just by preaching things to his followers.. i would consider it the fault of the people who become fanatic followers by getting mesmerised by his talk and forget to check what has he done in reality other than talk which can make him a better human being than themselves. I bet they never heard the saying in Italian " Fact non Verba" deeds not words is what it means.
There has been numerous instances wherein such so called Swami's have been caught doing deeds normal law abiding citizens would shiver thinking of, forget doing, but these so called holy men have people power and may be they also assume God to be on their side that they dare do such deeds without fear, but thank God sometimes luck runs out for them too!!
I am not sure though why people consider(across all religions) consider sex a Sin! why do people consider the process through which they were born as a Sin , is it because they are ashamed of being born or is it something else...
hope i dont have to look for a Swami to answer that now!!!

Turn off the lights ! its Earth hour tonight...

Just was going through the channels on television and caught this interesting event that all are crying about.. save the planet ! try and stall global warming...

The funny part here is that in India we do such a thing every day! If you don't believe me then check the number of power cuts we face in the cities.. forget villages as they do without power for days at a time..thanks to our very efficient and hard working Electricity department. I would imagine a GreenPeace worker going to my village and trying to convince them to switch off power for one hour tonight... bet the reaction of the people there would be Are you Crazy?
Man has found funny ways to say we care to the planet, but increase the price of crude oil based products by a rupee and that could topple the current government in power!
I would say the best way to show our planet we care is stop the exponential growth in Human population! That would be a sure way of reducing the amount of resources we use of the Earth, and in turn there would be more space where the planet can try and cure it of the human damage...
do you think our poor planet can sustain 6 billion people!
the human population has grown so much that an earthquake in the remote part of the world kills 1 million people! We have become like bacteria on a piece of bread.. now how long will the bread last is as good a guess as you could take!
I would say human nature of greed and materialism have led the planet on the brink of disaster...
hope we learn to rectify what we have done wrong and save the planet which has sustained us for such a long time..
hope each of us tries to do his or her best before its too late...

Alcoholism and Research

"Regular and moderate alcohol consumption is beneficial for people who had a previous heart attack or other ischemic vascular events, a new study has concluded."

this was what was written in a national daily! now i would sometimes wonder in one way we try and show alcohol and its consumers as evil of the society , but on the other hand such research shows a different side of it. The problem with the research i would say is the MODERATE clause in the research. Humans have the tendency to get hooked on to anything which they like and that throws the moderate clause of the research right out of the window! and as even a layman could tell you anything above moderate is ALWAYS bad for our health exception being MONEY !!
Mostly people of the older generation who are very much in to religious scriptures despise the use of alcohol by our generation saying that its against our religious beliefs and hence we must not touch alcohol let alone drink it. I am not much in to the scriptures but watching serials on television showing an enactment of the above mentioned scriptures i keep wondering, why does the king of the GODS Lord Indra gets to drink and watch beautiful girls (Apsara's) dance.
Humans tried to replicate the same scenario here on earth (Dance Bars) where alcohol and dance are done in about the same way.. i assume as i did not get a chance to see it for myself as they got banned before i could get to that stage!
not that i am sad at having missed it as an after thought!
But the the point always shown was that Lord Indra was having a good time doing the above mentioned deeds as it was and then there was a Demon who also wanted to do just that and all Gods conspire against the poor fella getting such a pleasure! i once asked my grandfather the reason behind why he could do it and not the rest of mankind.... and guess what the reply he gave me was simple but kind of true.. he said He is GOD and hence he can do it, we are common men and hence are not allowed !
We had a good laugh a week later on this as my loving grandfather said to me with regards to another discussion that WE all have a part of GOD within us and hence we should respect each other!!
and all i could say at the end was CHEERS to Life!!
